Web Design
Specializing in website design and website development, this is where my experience and creativity really shines! The first step to creating an engaging website design is to collect all requirements and details about the website that you have envisioned. The questions I ask (and you as the site owner should ask yourself) is what is the purpose of the website? What kind of information would you like conveyed? Who will be your audience? Then the fun part starts - the actual work!
I take the gathered information and bounce around ideas for implementation of improvements and a touch of originality where warranted. Once a web design is established you are asked for your review and feedback. Then we work as a team to complete the project within our previously agreed time frame and of course, budget.
The goal is to give you a finished product that not only you will be completely satisfied with, but happy enough that you will tell your friends about me!
Redesign
Already have a website? Then you could also use my website services as well. If your website has been around for some time and the web design is outdated and irrelevant, then you'll want to hire me! With a new appearance or a few subtle enhancements, you will be building excitement for your visitors and they will most likely come back to visit again!
Another consideration (and you should verify this even if you are not thinking of redesigning your website at this time) is many websites out there do not have the same appearance in all browsers. What might look good in Firefox or Safari on a Mac sadly will not necessarily look well formatted in Internet Explorer or another browser and platform. There is a standard in website design, but because of quirky output from some browsers it's not always a guarantee even if you follow the standards to their strictest level.
If you want me to check your website for you (free of charge) drop me a line with your website address. I will be more than happy to check your site for you and give you a comprehensive evaluation of my findings.
A key point is without a clean look all of the money and effort to get visitors to your site will be wasted! So be aware.
Maintenance
Regardless if you're an ecommerce merchant with ever changing inventory or an enthusiast with an informational website, maintenance and updates to content is absolutely necessary for several reasons. To name a few of the most important reasons other than the necessities such as monthly specials for merchants, tour dates for entertainers, and the odd website repairs that sometimes crop up, search engines absolutely crave ever changing content. A site that is not updated frequently is a site that will not have good page rank - period.
To illustrate another reason to maintain your site, have you ever been to a site and thought it had interesting articles or images, so much so you bookmarked it? And then a few weeks or months later you visited it again only to be disappointed that it's the same old stuff that you saw before?? If the content was different on your second visit would you come back for a third?? A fourth? Most likely yes, you would.
Keeping a website's content up-to-date is critical to its existence. If you want to keep your visitors, new from searches and repeats, no question you must change your content regularly.
My website maintenance services can be contracted as-needed or on a monthly basis. Contact me and let me know how I can help you.
Application Programming
If you have a unique programming need I can offer my services. Do you need PHP or ASP.NET programming? These two languages are the main web based languages. Depending on your web host's server type (Windows or Linux) we would recommend one of these languages to program in. Some programming examples are content management systems, custom quote engines, custom registration forms, login and administration procedures, dynamic PDF form building, etc.
Search Engine Optimization
You cannot build a website and think it will rank on the major search engines on its own. There is work and effort involved to accomplish this. If you already have good page ranking than you probably know that the work to keep it there is never ending! Search engine optimization is not a one shot deal, it's all about steady nurturing. Search engines are continuously changing their ranking criteria and it is vital that your website adheres to the current standards. I can help you stay on top and relevant by using the most effective (and legitimate) methods for good ranking. For more information and some great articles on search engine optimization, I suggest searchenginewatch.com which covers the subject very well.
